How do I upload our webpages to our website?
There are a few different ways you can upload files to your website. The most common is to use a FTP (File Transfer Protocol) program that would connect to our server and allow you to log in and copy your files to the correct location on the server. Another way would be to use Microsoft FrontPage (which requires installation of FrontPage Server Extensions [FPSE] on your website).

Does Xecunet offer FrontPage Server Extensions (FPSE)?
Yes, we can install FrontPage Server Extensions on your website, allowing you to utilize the various website enhancements.

How do I publish my website using FrontPage?
First, create your site in FrontPage. When you are ready, choose the option to Publish Web. It will ask for the server location (your website address), username, and password, and then FrontPage will start copying the files to the server.

Does Xecunet support Active Server Pages (ASP), Cold Fusion or PHP?
Yes, we have web servers that are running a Windows operating system that can support the Active Server Pages and Cold Fusion. We also have web servers that are running a Unix operating system that can support PHP.

On what Operating System (OS) will my site be hosted?
Unless otherwise requested we normally create new sites on our Unix servers. If you require Active Server Pages or Cold Fusion, or if you request it, we will create it on a Windows server.

How do I set up password-protected directories?
Password protecting directories on your website depends on the Operating System (OS) it is served from. With Windows OS, this can be done through FrontPage, or you can contact our support staff to do this for you (877-932-8638). If your site is hosted off the Unix OS and you are familiar with it, you can telnet/ssh to the server, and use a .htaccess file and the htpasswd command to password protect the directory. Does Xecunet register domain names?
Yes, you can register a domain name through our webpage here, or you can contact one of our sales representatives and we wil register the domain name for you.

How can I get e-mail addresses using my domain name?
Upon setting up a webhosting account, we can provide you with unlimited virtual e-mail addresses for your domain. This means you can have as many e-mail addresses with your domain name as you need. You can manage these through our Account Manager. If you don't see your domain management functionality displayed, or if you manage a domain that isn't listed among your domains, please contact support@xecu.net.

My domain name expired. Why didn't Xecunet inform me?
The domain expiration notification is handled by the registrar. If you registered your domain from any company other than Xecunet, your notification will come from that company instead of Xecunet. If you did not receive a notification, check with your registrar ( registration provider) and make sure your contact information is up to date and correct.

How can I change my website password?
Changing your password depends on the Operating System (OS) your website is hosted on. If your site is on Windows OS, contact a support representative to change the password. If your site is on Unix OS and you are familiar with it, you can telnet or ssh to the web server and run the "passwd" command.

What is a secure certificate and do I need one?
A secure certificate is a validation by a third party (a secure certificate provider such as Thawte.com or Verisign.com) that the website is owned and operated by a legitimate company. The secure certificate also allows for secure, encrypted transactions made by visitors through your website for purchases, donations and such. You really only need a secure certificate if you will be accepting financial or personal information (for example, social security numbers) through your website. It is not required, but many people will not enter in credit card information to an unsecured site.

Does Xecunet offer web statistics?
Xecunet provides visitor statistics for your website upon request. Once this service is set up, your website will have monthly statistics updated on a daily basis.
